SIUE Student Mentorship |
As you may or may not know, CDG staff members are frequently involved in community outreach programs. Most recently, Evan Wilson, a structural engineer, has volunteered to sponsor a senior design project for a group of 5 students from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville where he attended school.
Periodically, these students visit CDG’s office for guidance on the one story building they are designing for their senior project. Evan sets aside time to work through problems with them and offer his advice on how to interpret provisions in applicable building codes. The group has impressed Evan with their eagerness to learn and ability to work collaboratively. The final project is due at the end of April. Make sure to check out social media pages for updates on their grade! |
